This is my last day at Grade 7-5. I’m sad but I have to get on to my discussion and finish what I’m intended to do. So, I started with reviewing what we discussed last meeting and proceed to my actual topic for this day. Miss Rani has something to do today so she doesn’t accompany me in the class, which is understandable. She’s been there since day one and I think I could handle my last day on my own. At the last part of my period, the students started whispering and standing, as if there’s something they would like to tell me. I asked, “What is it?” At first, I thought she’s asking to go out with a few of her friends to train for the competition. Every now and then, students are being excuse for their classes to practice badminton. I think they have a competition coming up. I asked again, “Are you excused?” They’re just looking at each other and don’t know what to say, or at least translate it to English. And finally, she spoke “Ma’am, can we have a picture with you?” Oh, picture. Okay. Then they started to gather around and ask questions like when we will go back here in Medan. Okay kids, first of all, I’m not yet done discussing; second, you still have an activity, calm down! They’re still very charming and sweet. I somehow feel bad for ruining the moment and have them answer the worksheet. I’m sorry kids but I have to do this. Afterwards, we took some more pictures and they kept on talking to me. And the moment that I turn to see my laptop, it was full of letters; all from each of the students of Grade 7-5! It was really heartwarming, and so I said my farewell and went back to the faculty.
