DAY 18: Eid al-Adha

NO CLASSES! It’s a three-day holiday in celebration of Eid al-Adha. Most of them spend their time with their family since it’s really an important day for Islams. Meanwhile, five of us – Ally, Angel, Arvin, Triin, and I – decided to take another day off any requirement and just enjoy the rest of the weekend. We went to Centre Point (as usual) and we first ate our lunch at Pepper Lunch! What a great way to start the day. We went around finding lipsticks and Triin found the right one for her. Afterwards, we went to Paper Clip to see what teaching stuff we can buy. It was mostly books and toys so we went out right away. We ran out of things to do but we didn’t want to go home right away. So I searched if they have a karaoke hub in the mall and fortunately, there is!!! The room is enough for us five, maybe because one or two are standing as they sing. It’s fancy at a LOW PRICE. Oh, I have to take my Filipino troops here! We spent 2 hours there and sang at the top of our lungs. It is one of the best Filipino qualities, most people say. Filipinos love to sing even if we’re not good at singing at all. In the Philippines, karaoke is present in every occasion – birthday, Christening, victory party, farewell party – just everything. It’s the center of the celebration! – of course besides the cake and the beer. Although they don’t have Filipino songs which we are DYING to sing, there are still a lot of English songs we can choose from. We had so much fun and wanted to do more but unfortunately, we have to go back right away because we have to meet Bagaz. Bagaz is the son of our favorite café’s owner. We made friends with him so sometime we ask to meet him at their café to just talk. Sometimes, they tell us when the live band is playing so we could go and watch. We went there and after a while, Gita and Miel showed up, and so as Bagaz. We talked for a while and went home right away to rest.
