DAY 12: Al-Amjad Got Talent!

The day has come for Al-Amjad students to show their talents! We have over 40 participants who would have the chance to go to the next round. The talent show invites everyone with talent regardless what that is, whether it’s dancing, singing, magic, poem reading, playing an instrument, stand-up comedy, and more. The variety of talents that these students have is amazing! They can perform solo, duet, or even by group. Another thing I noticed in their talent show that’s quite different is that one person can perform a couple of times. If you have many talents, you can perform them all! You can even do a solo AND perform with a group later on. More performance, more chances of winning! I love how they don’t limit the students what they can do and cannot do. They are fully free to do what they want and show it to the judges. The talent show is conducted in a room so there are no much audience – only the judges and the pending performers – but since we, the SEA-Teachers, are visitors and would love to involve and witness as much as student activities we may, they asked if they could watch the show and gladly, they’re allowed to do so. At the first half of the show, Arvin took place of Miel because he was late but Miel followed soon enough. Gita also accompanied me and Miel to be our translator since we had to make comments every once in a while. Some talents are very remarkable that even though we don’t understand what they’re saying we can still feel the emotions from their voice. Some talents didn’t require us to score since we can’t fully judge it because they speak in Bahasa; talents such as stand-up comedies and poems. Nevertheless, they were all great and brave to go out there and just showed what they got. So to everyone who joined the Al-Amjad Got Talent, cheers to you!
